Last night, Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin gave a great speech. Governor Sarah Palin disassembled Democrat Barack Obama's campaign and career line-by-line.
Democrat Congressman Ed Perlmutter appeared on 850 KOA's Colorado's Morning News this morning and attempted to lie about Sarah Palin. While his lies were not nearly as vile as some of the lefty bloggers, the completely factually-challenged Ed Perlmutter had nothing to do except misstate and spin meaningless facts.
Ed Perlmutter, while attempting to highlight Governor Palin's relative inexperience, denegrated the size of the city of which Governor Palin served as Mayor and on City Council. (For those who are interested, Wasilla, Alaska, put up a web page covering Sarah Palin's terms as mayor and council member).
Ed Perlmutter also tried to paint Palin's 20 months as Alaska's governor as a failed term with the troopergate scandal. As I pointed out yesterday, this "scandal" is much ado about nothing (Note to Democrats: please keep bringing up this "scandal" about Palin's former brother-in-law who tased his own stepson and threatened her family but whose union protected him). Greg Pollowitz of NRO's Media Blog reported that even the far left cable network MSNBC reporters do not believe that "troopergate" is an issue:
Chuck Todd and Tom Brokaw, at about 8:10 tonight, just told Keith Olbermann that Troopergate will be, at best, a "speed-bump" and likened it to "the petty Little Rock politics" that never amounted to anything with Bill Clinton.
That aside, my assessment of the speech is quite in line with Jonah Goldberg's assessment at NRO's The Corner :
She was put on this earth to do two things: kill caribou and kick butt. She's all out of caribou.
