Coffman for Congress Update
Friends -
More great news! Last week we announced that Mike had earned the endorsement of the Denver Post, this week we just learned that Mike has earned the endorsement of another daily newspaper, the Aurora Sentinel. Click here to read more. There is an old saying that you can tell whose out in front by the number of arrows in their back. Well, over the course of the past month Mike has had to endure a lot of untruthful criticism from his opponents. Earlier this week an independent attack group sent out a deceitful and dishonest mail piece attacking Mike. It's unfortunate that Mike's character, public service, and military service have all been subject to attack. We, however, will continue to talk about Mike's record and what he will bring to the Congress as our next Representative. As we enter the final week of the campaign we are planning a strong final grassroots push to get voters to the polls. We will continue calling voters who have yet to cast their ballot and walking precincts each night. In order for us to successfully reach our goals for the number of calls made and precincts walked we need your help! To sign up to help us with the final 8 of '08 contact Jeff Small at 303.791.6453 or email jeff@coffmanforcongress.com These final days are the most critical as each vote really does count. We are confident that with a strong final push from all of you who have so generously given your time and money over the past seven months that victory is within sight. As always, thank you for your support. Sincerely,
Dustin Zvonek Campaign Manager |

COFFMAN CAMPAIGN CALLS ON PROTECT COLORDO JOBS TO DISCLOSE CONTRIBUTORS
Highlands Ranch, CO – Sixth Congressional District candidate Mike Coffman called on Protect Colorado Jobs to disclose the donors who financed the unauthorized mailing from their committee against Mike Coffman.
Earlier this week, a negative mass mailing was sent out to voters in the 6th Congressional District by “Protect Colorado Jobs,” in an attempt to damage his bid for Congress. Protect Colorado Jobs is a nonprofit C-4 organization established to promote the ability for employees to never be required to join or pay dues to a labor union. To supporters, this concept is called the “Right to Work.”
It was uncovered that the chairman of the committee, political consultant Curt Cerveny, had unilateral access to the committee’s funds and according to John Barry, lawyer for Protect Colorado Jobs, paid for a negative mass mailing against Coffman without either the approval or the knowledge of the organizations board of directors and donors. Barry has publicly stated that he does not know whether the mailing against Coffman was paid for using existing funds collected in support of the right to work initiative, Amendment 47, or if there were additional funds placed into the account to pay for the mailing.
“It’s absolutely vital that Protect Colorado Jobs disclose how this mailing was paid for. There is no question that Cerveny did not act alone. We believe he did this on behalf of another candidate. Coordinating with another campaign is in clear violation of federal campaign finance law. Protect Colorado Jobs needs to make their financial records public and come clean with what happened,” said Coffman’s campaign manager, Dustin Zvonek.
