Politics is an ugly business. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton spent months wrangling back and forth for the Democratic nomination for President, only for Hillary Clinton to lose in the end. However, the whole primary season could have been for naught, as Jake Tapper reports.
By the time we all heard about it
the unscheduled stop that the campaign plane of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois,
made in St. Louis yesterday was ultimately uneventful. But the incident was
quite dicey there for a spell.
As the pilot struggled to re-gain control of the pitch of the plane - the angle of the nose of the plane - [ Barack ] Obama was told that he and the other 44 passengers on board might have to assume the brace position upon landing, bending forward with their heads between their knees.
Thank goodness that no one was hurt during the landing. The most interesting point for conspiracy theorists is at the end of the article: whose plane was it?
This was not Obama's regular campaign plane, which is being overhauled. It was a loaner, having previously been used by Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY.
No evidence of a vast “right-wing” conspiracy was found, as an inflatable slide in the rear of the aircraft deployed mid-flight, causing the incident. Also, no evidence exists that the slide deployment was due to Barack Obama’s insistence that the pilot only make hard left turns during the flight.
